We used coconut cream to make this homemade protein ice cream. There are other options if you dont have coconut cream. A not to ideal substitute would be to use heavy cream. You may also use milk which wont give you that rich and creamy flavor but will still work. Any milk will work great like whole milk, almond milk, cashew milk, or rice milk.

Additional Ingredients Chocolate Protein Ice Cream

  • almond butter or peanut butter look for nut butter that doesnt have any added ingredients. I usually go for the store brand and read the label to make sure its just one or two ingredients, the nuts and salt. If you need a nut-free option, sunflower butter or tahini would be great substitutions.

So, I had some kefir in my fridge for the longest time and I couldnt for the life of me figure out what to do with it! I didnt want to bake it into one of my healthy baked oatmeals, or healthy smores cookies. The major reason being that heating kefir ultimately KILLS all that good bacteria. Ingredients:

  • 1-2 scoops of protein powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons of almond butter
  • 1-3 oz of your milk of choice

Directions:

Place your almond butter in a bowl and then add protein powder. Wisk in the almond milk slowly, and then mix the powder, almond butter, and milk, until you have a pudding-like substance. If you want, you can eat this right now and call it protein pudding. I prefer to throw it in the freezer for 30-45 minutes for an ice-cream-like consistency.
