Find A Cereal That Fills You Up

The key is to find a healthy cereal that is not filled with hunger spiking grains.

The goal is to fill yourself up, not eat cereal that is marketed as low calorie.

These low calorie cereals are usually filled with unhealthy ingredients that dont fill you up.

In fact, they do the opposite.

They spike your blood sugar, thus causing it to quickly crash, then youre hungry again.

Eat satiating food high in protein, healthy fat, and high in fiber, and your appetite will be satisfied.

Protein Powder On Cereal

If you sprinkled sugar on your cereal when you were a kid, you know that the added boost of sweetness changed the flavor completely.

Of course, these days, most cereal flavors are overwhelmingly sugary almost to the point where your sweet tooth gets an overdose.

So, to get the most out of putting protein powder on cereal, you should consider getting a cereal that isnt packed with sugar.;

High-fiber cereals are great for you, but its hard to find one that doesnt give you the feeling that youre chewing on chunks of a cardboard box.

However, if you simply take a teaspoon of your favorite sweet protein powder and lightly sprinkle it over the top, you will get a completely different flavor.

Keep in mind, if you just dump the teaspoon onto the top of your cereal, you might end up with a few chunks of dusty protein powder as youre eating.

Thats why its important to just sprinkle it gently over the top like you would a teaspoon of sugar.

However, there is a better way of getting your protein powder and fiber every morning.

    How to Make Granola Two Ways: Delicious and Low

    When looking for a high protein cereal, here are a couple things to keep in mind:

    • Added sugar.As is common with many pre-packaged foods, cereals contain many added sugars and additives to improve their taste. Although high-protein cereals may seem like a more health-conscious breakfast option, this doesnt mean that they wont contain high amounts of added sugar. One study found that promotional labeling on cereal boxes is designed to distract consumers from their unhealthy sugar contents by claiming that the product provides important nutrients, such as vitamin D or fiber. To avoid unwanted added sugars, make sure to check the labels yourself to avoid falling victim to persuasive marketing .
    • Saturated fat. Saturated fat is frequently found lurking in processed foods especially those like cereal that include refined oils in their ingredient lists. High consumption of saturated fats can put you at risk for health problems like high cholesterol and heart disease. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend consuming less than 10% of calories per day from saturated fat to support a healthy diet .;
    • Fiber content. Many cereals that are made with refined grains tend to miss out on vital nutrients like fiber, while whole grains cereals provide the many health benefits associated with fiber. Starting your day with a cereal that contains more than 20% of the daily value is considered an excellent source of fiber .

    Using a smaller bowl is probably my number-one tip to help you feel more satisfied from a mental standpoint because a smaller amount of food looks like more than it would in a larger bowl. Research has shown that visual cues like bowl size and even color can impact how satisfied we feel. For example, this study showed that people served themselves less when there was less of a contrast between the color of the food at the plate!;I also recommend using actual bowls and silverware whenever possible if you’re eating at work. Sure, you might be eating the exact same meal out of a to-go container, but the experience is totally different. When you consider that breakfast is your first meal of the day, it can really set the tone for what’s ahead, so an extra few seconds can give you a boost that lasts all day!
