How Long Does Whey Protein Last After Expiration Date
According to the most recent research, protein powders like whey protein powder have a shelf life of nine to 19 months when stored under normal conditions. These normal conditions are defined as 70°F and 35% humidity. If a protein contains additives, that can extend the shelf life for up to two years.
Is It Bad To Drink Protein Shake Everyday
While protein shakes around workouts and between meals are helpful, make sure you’re getting enough throughout the day. Both foods and supplements can help you meet your goals. For healthy people, there are little or no health risks associated with using protein shakes while following a high-protein diet.
Synthetic Vitamin And Mineral Blend
Premier Protein Shake contains a blend of vitamins and minerals. Food companies often do this to âbeef upâ the nutrition label on their product. This is especially common in the alternative milk industry. Consumers will think their almond milk is significantly more nutritious than whole milk because the almond milk manufacturer added a bunch of synthetic vitamins so the Supplement Facts label looks impressive.
There is no benefit to taking synthetic vitamins if youâre not deficient, and supplementation should only be used to correct a deficiency or maintain optimal levels based on testing.
Itâs evident based on some of the vitamin choices that Premier Protein was looking to use the cheapest rather than the most effective compounds for this blend. Vitamin K1 is used instead of Vitamin K2 which is about 10x better absorbed. Vitamin K1 is also easy to get through diet while K2 isnât.
For Vitamin B9, Premier Protein Shake chooses folic acid rather than the superior methylated form of folate, which is much better absorbed and arguably safer. As we discussed in our review of the wildly popular Goli ACV Gummies, folic acid is synthetic and has a weak association with cancer because it can be hard for the body to clear unlike dietary folate.

Overall Safety Of Protein Powder
In general, protein powder is fairly safe, according to the Mayo Clinic. However, since protein powder is a dietary supplement, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is not required to approve the marketing claims for safety or effectiveness before the product sells.
In September 2018, Harvard Health reported on a paper from the Clean Label Project that discussed the toxins found in protein powder. Based on research they conducted, the group found that several protein powders contain heavy metal, pesticides or other contaminants.
These examples reinforce the need to be a cautious consumer, which means reading everything on the product label before using it, especially when looking at expired protein powder two years later than its use-by date. It also means you need to pay attention to the smell, taste and texture of the protein powder after the use-by or sell-by-date. Additionally, if the product has not reached its expiration date and you notice any unusual smells, tastes or appearance, take the protein powder back to where you purchased it.
If you have any questions or concerns, it’s always a good idea to talk with your doctor or healthcare provider prior to using any dietary supplement, especially if you have an existing health condition, dairy allergy or take medication.
What Are The Side Effects Of Taking Premier Protein
Whey and casein can cause bloating. stomach cramp, and diarrhea if you have bad reactions to lactose.
On the more extreme end, some say sucralose and artificial sweeteners can lead to some long term side effects.
For example, these can include allergic reactions, gut problems, and seizures and dizziness to name some.
However, I believe generally, you should be fine if you dont consume premier protein too much.

What Is A Protein Shake Diet
A typical protein shake diet will replace one or two meals per day with a pre-purchased shake or one you prepare yourself using a soy-based or whey protein powder and some form of liquid. Many dieters use water because it doesn’t add calories, but you can also use milk or juice.
Let’s take a look at one popular protein diet meal plan and consider a few points that may help you decide whether or not it’s right for you.

One time I made one with milk in college and couldn’t finish it. Drank it two days later and it tasted better than usual. So it will last at least two days, probably more as long as the milk doesn’t go bad.
well i used water for that reason

Why You Need Protein
Protein is made up of amino acids, which are so essential to your body that they are called the building blocks of life. The nine essential amino acids come together in all sorts of combinations to create and strengthen the cells that make up your bones, blood vessels and organs, including your skin. The cells in your hair, skin and nails are constantly being sloughed off and replaced, and protein plays a major part in this. It is also needed to repair and build muscle tissue. Amino acids combine to form the immunoproteins that fight off infection and keep you healthy, the enzymes that help you do things like digest foods, and some types of hormones. Protein can be found in many foods and also in the form of the protein powders you use to make protein shakes.

Additional protein, whether from shakes or whole foods, can help minimize the amount of weight you regain after weight loss.
